What Is Church About To Us

It’s Home. Because we aren’t of this world. We are citizens of Heaven. We belong to the family of God; the Body of Christ. Church is not an event you attend, it’s a family you belong to. We need each other. (Phil 3:20, Eph 2:19-22, 1 Cor 12:12-14.)

It’s worshipping God together. Because it’s all about Jesus! When we gather together: Jesus is among us, miracles happen, and The Holy Spirit is poured out. There is power in gathering together as the local church. (Acts 2:42-47, Matthew 18:20.)

It’s the lost being found. The unchurched, the disillusioned, the hopeless, the broken – finding Jesus (his love, grace, salvation). People finding hope for their future. People are our prize! (Luke 15, 1 Thess 2:19-20.)

It’s learning how to follow Jesus in our daily lives, and then teaching others how to do the same (discipleship). Being encouraged and built up and growing in our faith. As we are planted in the local church we will grow and flourish! (Matt 28:18-20, 1 Thess 5:11, 2 Tim 3:16-17, Ps 92:13.)

It’s being equipped for our purpose. Equipped to go out into our world and live out our God-given purpose. (Eph 4:12, Eph 2:10.) Your ministry is the world you’re in. We believe that God wants to have Christians living out their purpose in every sphere and corner of society, shining brightly for him, and taking the gospel to their world.
